a weekend of pressed earth

I admit, I am a bit of a fad person. Ok - I am totally a fad person. I pick up a trend that's been whizzing through the twitter-verse, facegram and instabook, and obsesses over it and then HAVE to try it for myself…

Just last week I  read on the rather delightful wherethestyledthingsare blog page - about the latest craze hitting Perth - juice cleansing… In typical Hannah form, I wanted-in on the action, god forbid should I get a case of fomo (fear of missing out) - which is the total pits, let me tell you.

After a chat with The Bird aka boyfriend regarding the 'art' of cold press and how it "retains the essential enzymes and vital micronutrients nature provides" I jumped straight on to the wide world web and after searching "juice cleanse perth", I was somewhat relieved to only find a handful of options. I had heard of one or two and seen a few websites and Facebook pages but had never heard of this 'Pressed Earth' crew… Immediately I totally picked up what they were putting down. Rad name to start with - simple, clean and dare I say it - earthy… The branding has a great feel to it - not over the top, or undercooked - spot on.

After looking at few other companies, I went with option 3  - Pressed Earth. The process was easy - choose your cleanse, from 1, 2 or 3 days and order by Wednesday for a Friday delivery, submit! I had an email back almost straight away with confirmation of my order, then made an online payment and I was done. Easy.

Now to the business end of my waffling - the actual juice cleanse. I begain on Friday morning and finished on Sunday evening. I got hangry (an epic combination of hunger and anger), I'm not going to lie. I am a big eater - for anyone who has ever worked with me knows I have an endless supply of snacks within close proximity of my work zone. But I do eat well… Gluten free and relatively clean with the odd weekly vino… So the whole 'green' aspect of the cleanse didn't phase me at all. I was excited to give it a whirl and see how my body coped!

Firstly, the Pressed Earth duo -The Beare Brothers - and their team have nailed the juice combinations. They are freaking delicious. Not too overpowering, damn consistent and a great balance of fruit and veggie and flippin' fresh. The juices are all created for something different, whether it be for hydration, recovery or relaxing - they all have been tried, tested, and tried and tested again, you can certainly tell!

I did the Classic Cleanse /// 6 Juices - $52 Day
Greens Kale & Apple /// granny smith apple, kale, silverbeet, cos lettuce, cucumber, celery, lemon
The Jungle /// pear, pineapple, cucumber, mint (my favourite)
Greens Broccoli & Apple /// granny smith apple, broccoli, cos lettuce, cucumber, celery, lemon
Appetite /// lemon, pear, cayenne, mineral water
Alphabet /// pink lady apple, carrot, beetroot, lemon, ginger
Coco Nuts  /// almonds, coconut water, mineral water

Throughout the weekend I went through stages of feeling amazing, then pretty tired, so I'd definitely recommend laying low and having a super chilled weekend, OR do the cleanse mid-week, if you're not doing too much strenuous exercise or physical activity. If you drink the juices throughout the day and fill the gaps with coconut water and good ol' H2O, you'll be fine! By the time Monday came, I was pretty stoked tohave breakfast. Those two eggs and half an avocado had never tasted better than they did that day… My body felt light - not in weight - as I don't weigh myself, but the feel… I felt refreshed, more balanced, and (over-share) my digestive system was stoked! It was a pretty positive experience all round.

I totally digress - what I was wanting to say 567347539 characters ago - was - that the juice is delicious, the bottles and labels are cool, I like drinking out of jars - they're nice to hold and you should definitly give Pressed Earth a go… Whether it's a juice a day, or a 3 day cleanse, you'll find your balance. I found mine.
